Articulture to Offer Unique Pairing of Art & Farms

Articulture, a new organization based in the Asheville area, is presenting its first annual Art & Farm Tour. On Sunday, May 31, several well-known local artists will be paired with area farms, for a day of workshops, exhibitions, and family fun.

“Farms enrich our lives physically as much as art and the creative process enrich our lives philosophically,” says Steve McAlinn, a co-organizer of the tour. “The goal for this project is to make a connection between the two, and thus allow community members to view art being created in a nontraditional setting.”

The morning of the tour (from a.m.) will be dedicated to learning. Participating artists will offer special workshops and demonstrations at their selected farms. As class sizes are being kept small to maximize participation, preregistration for these workshops is required.

In the afternoon, from 1-5 p.m., the farms will open their doors to the public. Passholders will be able to tour the farms and view special exhibitions of the artists’ works. Many of the farms will have goodies available for sale, so bring your coolers!
