Golden Boy of the Blue Ridge

Don’t miss Southern Appalachian Repertory Theatre’s newest bluegrass musical, Golden Boy of the Blue Ridge, on stage through July 30, 2023.

If you enjoyed Bright Star at SART in 2019, then you’re going to love this incredible musical based on the Irish classic, Playboy of the Western World. Written by Peter Mills and Cara Reichel, this story has been transplanted from rural Ireland to 1930s Appalachia and set to a bluegrass score.

The Golden Boy of the Blue Ridge is a coming-of-age story about a slapdash murder, a whirlwind romance, and a most unlikely hero. Featuring Lilah Price, Dillon Giles, Jeff Stone, Chelsey Lee Gaddy, Tristan Altobelli, Ric Cedergren, Jared Wise, Kevin Taylor, Troy J. Crossley, Jack Womack, Aaron Price, and Adam Kampouris. Directed by William Tyler Ezzell, with Music Direction by Aaron Price, and Choreography by Kyrstin Ezzell.

Showing at Southern Appalachian Repertory Theatre July 20-30, 2023. Tickets for Golden Boy of the Blue Ridge are available at www.sartplays.com, or at their box office 7 days a week, from 2:30-6:30 p.m. You may also reach the box office by phone at (828) 689-1232.
