Covid Variants: What You Should Know

Don’t let variants slow our progress in the fight against COVID-19.

Viruses constantly change through mutation and sometimes these mutations result in a new variant of the virus. Some variants emerge and disappear while others persist. New variants will continue to emerge. CDC and other public health organizations monitor all variants of the virus that causes COVID-19 in the United States and globally.

We are all tired of COVID-19, but the pandemic is not over yet. We can slow its spread.

Wear a mask, stay at least 6 feet from others, avoid crowds and poorly ventilated spaces, wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds, and get vaccinated.
