Description

Providing you with information, maps, directions and accommodations in Madison County.

Just a 20 minute drive north of Asheville and an hour from Johnson City, Tennessee, the Madison County Visitors Center serves all of Madison County. It is located in the heart of downtown Mars Hill on Main Street across from the Post Office.

Our staff of dedicated local volunteers are all eager to meet you and make your visit enjoyable. They know the county, can provide you with materials or maps, and give directions to recreation and accommodations in the county. Relax and take in the beauty of the mountains of Western North Carolina. Stroll around the college campus, visit local handmade gift shops, enjoy a meal, or see a real estate agent if you decide to stay.

The Visitors Center is a unique partnership between the towns of Mars Hill, Marshall, and Hot Springs; the Madison County Chamber of Commerce, the Tourism Development Association, as well as the Madison County Community Foundation, Hot Springs Health Program and the County.

Open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. From Exit 11 off of I-26 (US 19/23) turn left onto 213, Carl Eller Road and drive to Main Street in Mars Hill. The Visitors Center is located at the southwest corner where the road intersects with Main Street (56 South Main). To contact the office, call (828) 680-9031. E-Mail: info@visitmadisoncounty.com.
