Community Action Opportunities

Community Action Opportunities was founded in 1964 by the Economic Opportunity Act to confront and solve the problems that cause poverty. We administer a full range of coordinated programs that make a measurable impact on poverty.

Head Start prepares 3-5 year olds to succeed in school by increasing their abilities and knowledge. Parents learn how to better support their children as they learn and grow.

Life Works is a self sufficiency program that helps individuals improve their lives by finding and keeping better paying jobs, obtaining education, gaining safe and affordable housing, and building personal strengths.

Weatherization services improve homes by making them safe, healthy and more energy-efficient by sealing air leaks and insulating. We also tune-up, repair or in some cases replace heating systems.
