Two 2017 graduates of Madison High School received scholarships through the Madison County Chamber of Commerce.
Cole Blackman received a $500 scholarship awarded by the chamber. Sarah Ledford received a $500 scholarship awarded by the North Carolina Community Foundation and Madison County Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber leaders say the two were selected because of their academic performance, involvement in extracurricular activities, and leadership ability. Mitch Hampton, vice president of the chamber and owner of French Broad Rafting and Ziplines, presented the scholarships during Madison High School’s senior awards banquet on May 19, 2017.
