At the Madison County Fair Grounds in Marshall, NC. Marshall Fire Department presents the 44th Annual Rodeo, with fireworks following the show on the 4th. Cost $10, kids 6-12, $5.

Fireworks in Hot Springs
The town of Hot Springs is planning a big celebration this year for the 4th of July. The fireworks display begins at dark, and is held at the Hot Springs Spa and Campground. Free activities for youngsters will be provided. Other events include a street dance with live music from Kemistry starting at 7:30. Food vendors will offer a variety of meals and snacks, and local businesses will be open late. The 4th of July holiday falls on a Saturday this year, and the town is expecting a large turn-out for the event. The Hot Springs Entertainment Committee will offer free activities for kids.

Celebrate at the Madison County Farmers Market
Mackey Farms will be cooking and serving their scrumptious BBQ pork with all the fixins. Eat at the market or take away plates available. We will have live music and the 4H cloggers will perform at 11:00 am. We will also have some fun stuff for the kids. So come out, shop, listen to some music, and have a delicious lunch. Mars Hill Independence Day Celebration

Hot Doggett 100 - Cycling Event
Three routes will take bicycle riders over lightly-traveled back roads through some of the most beautiful scenery in the Southeast. All rides begin and end on the campus of Mars Hill College. 100 mile course - 6 rest stops, 9600 foot ascent. 100 meter course - 4 rest stops, 6200 foot ascent. 23rd Annual Hospice Golf Tournament and Fun on the Mountain at Wolf Laurel
The Wolf Laurel Benefit and Silent Auction for Hospice of Madison County. Wolf Laurel is the single largest contributor to this organization. The proceeds from this tournament go directly to the Hot Springs Health Program for the care and support of Hospice patients and their families. Here's a summary of events for this fun-filled weekend: Friday: Golf for Wolf Laurel residents and their guests, Wine Tasting and Silent Auction Preview. Saturday events, open to all: Golf, Farmers' Market, Silent and Live Auctions, Raffles for a Basket of Cheer and other prizes, 50/50 drawing, Cocktails, and Dinner.
