Soiree at Kalamazoo

Americana singer Ashley Heath and Bluegrass greats Whitewater Bluegrass will take the Soireé stage at Kalamazoo on Sunday afternoon, October 8 from 2:30 until 5:30 p.m.

Enjoy lots of great homemade fall comfort food, interesting and exciting art donations you can take a chance on winning. A great opportunity to mix and mingle with friends and neighbors.

Fall Fermenting Festival @ Madison County Cooperative Extension Center
Nov 5 @ 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm

A uniquely tasteful event will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 5th at the Madison County Cooperative Extension Center, 258 Carolina Lane. This family friendly event is free to attend, with proceeds benefiting the Beacon of Hope food pantry.

Local fermenters will be presenting their products. A few will be hosting demonstrations and sharing skills in preparing beneficial food like kraut, kimchi, kefir, kombucha, apple cider vinegar, chocolates, and pet food.

Vendors will share their products, information, and resources on the benefits of locally-grown fermented foods.

Madison County Brewing will ferment a special beer that will be sampled at the event and will be available for purchase at their downtown brewery.

Local musicians will perform Appalachian Jazz and Blues ballads; guest artists Alina Quu and Erica Joy Olsen will perform. A culture-swap, children’s crafts, and more will be on site.

Traditional Music at the Depot
Every Friday & Saturday, 7pm
Bluegrass, country, or old time musical groups take the stage beginning at 7:00 p.m. There is no admission charge. Refreshments sold include homemade desserts, hot dogs, and beverages. Bands play 30 minute sets. Join in a cake walk, you could win the 50/50 drawing! At the Depot on Main Street in Marshall.
