Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund

Providing educational opportunities for Madison County residents

The Madison County Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Endowment Fund supports Madison County students in their pursuit of a higher education. The Chamber has established an endowment which will provide an annual scholarship award to a local student. The Chamber wants to award a scholarship each year to a worthy Madison County student, and welcomes contributions to the fund.

This year the Chamber will award two $500 scholarships. You can complete the application here.

Recognizing that our young people are the county’s most important investment, the Chamber established the Madison County Chamber of Commerce Education Scholarship Endowment with the Madison County Community Foundation (an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation) in 2001.

Thanks to good investing on the part of the Foundation, and yearly contributions to the fund, the endowment is now valued at nearly $14,900. The Chamber encourages the community to support the Scholarship Endowment to reach and exceed $25,000. Contributions are tax-deductible.

The scholarship application and selection process will be handled by the Madison County Chamber of Commerce Education Committee. The Committee has developed a scholarship application that is distributed at Madison High School and to financial aid officers of area community colleges, colleges, and universities thus enabling any Madison County resident who has a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate to apply. The Chamber is especially interested in students who plan to return to Madison County as our future business leaders.

Help Reach Our Goal

The Chamber invites citizens of Madison County to join our business community in supporting this effort to improve educational opportunities for our youth. Anyone can donate to this fund by sending a check to the Madison County Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund at PO Box 1085, Mars Hill, NC 28754.
